Lifeguard Training

Crystal Springs Parks and Recreation holds Lifeguard Training for all interested high school students. Two Lifeguard Training sessions are offered during the month of May at the Crystal Springs Lee Avenue Pool in Crystal Springs. The 2009 schedule is as follows:
First Class Offered
Friday, May 1st 4-6pm
Saturday, May 2nd 9am-6pm
Sunday, May 3rd 1pm-5pm
Friday, May 8th 4pm-6pm
Saturday, May 9th 9am-6pm
Sunday, May 10th 1pm-5pm
Second Class Offered
Friday, May 15th 4pm-6pm
Saturday May 16th 9am-6pm
Sunday, May 17th 1pm-5pm

Jr. Auxiliary Swim Lessons
|
|
Swim lessons are offered each summer by the Junior Auxiliary of Crystal Springs for children entering first grade and up. Swim levels offered from level 1-7 which takes a child from learning to hold their breath to mastering all swim strokes. Cost is $10 per child. This years lessons will be June 8 thru June 17. Registration will be held at Lee Ave Center Wed. May 27 from 9:00 AM until 12 noon.

Robert Johnson Music Festival

Soccer Programs

The City of Crystal Springs has a great soccer program run by Henry Poole. There currently are 114 children participating in the program, ages 3-14. The program has a spring and fall season, March - April and August - October.

Environmental Education Day

Environmental Education Day is held the first Tuesday of April each year. This event is open to all 5th graders in Copiah County from 8-12. Children bring sack lunches and eat in beautiful Chautauqua Park. Please call the Park Office at 601-892-0007 for more information.

Envirothon Area Competition

City Basketball

Johnny Young and Jimmy Buchanan, Jr. are co-coordinators for the city program that runs from February - April. The program currently has 205 children ranging from 6-14. They play each Saturday from 9-5.

Chautauqua Christmas
|

Chautauqua Christmas held each year from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Beautiful Chautuaqua Park is transformed into a winter wonderland, sparkling with thousands of lights. Admission is $3.00 per car. Please come join us for this wonderful family activity, dusk until 9:00 each night.
